Madhabi Soren, a tribal woman from Parshla village, transformed her barren land into a thriving mango orchard through GAWS’ TDF support. With intercropping and kitchen gardening, she now earns a steady income and feeds her family nutritious food. Her journey from wage labor to proud orchard owner inspires many in her village.
Ramesh Mahato, a traditional terracotta artisan from Bankura, received skill enhancement and marketing support through GAWS’ Handloom and Craft initiative. His designs now reach urban markets, doubling his income. Ramesh has since trained five local youth, helping preserve cultural heritage while creating livelihoods.
